So I bought some small zoa frags and after them being in my tank a while and getting used to it, I would like to move them to a permanent home. I have super glue gel, but I was wondering could I just attach the frag to the rock without removing the little stone plug? Will the zoas eventually spread over the plug, down onto the rock? Or do I have to remove it from the plug and then put it onto the rock?

Zoas spread. They will ultimately cover the plug under the right conditions. No need to remove the frag plug unless you want to.

they will spread over the plug so if it fits nicely in your rockwork i say save yourself the trouble and just put the plug in there and let them grow.

I just attached the plug to the rock and my zoas spread over the plug onto the rock with no problem. however i used more than just super glue gel to get a good attachemt between the plug and the rock. I glued the plug to some plumbers epoxy putty and then put glue on the other side of the putty and smashed it all in place on the rock. I found if i do it that way i get a better seal and the frag stays in place better. if i just use glue or just use putty the plugs tend to get pushed off by some overzealous snails.
