My turbo snail just started doing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf3H-ytIFPM
The video isn't mine, but it's definitely the same event. Mine is doing the same thing as the snail on the right. The "eggs" are green, and it's been going on for 15 minutes or so. The tank is now swarming with them, and my clown is gorging himself.
WWM had the following to say (again, not my post, just the result of a little research):
"I noticed my Turbo Snail propped up on a rock spraying little green pellets, really small pellets, all around itself and then they were taken away in the currents. Is it spraying eggs or is it going to the bathroom?
<the latter... concentrated fecal pellets that will hopefully be skimmed out of the aquarium via the skimmer to prevent a new algae bloom>
So which is correct? Is my ocellaris eating snail poops? I've also heard that turbo snail eggs should be a slimy path left on the glass, which would indicate that this isn't a spawning.
Either way, is it a sign that the snail isn't happy? Again, I've read both that it's a sign of stress (akin to anemones spawning when stressed) or a sign that water params are excellent.
Any snail porn experts out there?
