ok so awhile back i found this pic of blue xenia and fell in love with it. but befor i go out buying a frag or anything thout id make sure to know what im looking for. if you can help thank you very much. bowdown01.gif happydance.gif

it only looks like that in flash photos

+1 on flash, and you also see a little bit of that effect by viewing it from the water's surface and not through the glass. A lot of places call it cespitularia instead of blue xenia too.

Mine looks just like your pic when taken with a flash but here it is normally:

+1 - shimmer is seen by flash. Here's a shot of my old colony of cepistularia :
