I have a 14g biocube with 2 Picassos, 1 mandarin and pygmy angel. The angel is about 1.5". no problems but the websites say 30+ gallons.

Not sure the min tank size, but I can tell you I had a pygmy and a coral beauty in my 34 gallon. You could probably put both of them in a smaller tank but it would depend on how many other fish you have in the tank.

Always go by the maximum (adult) size. In the wild, centropyge damsels have large territories and are fairly active. They will appreciate having room to swim. Also, it's best to get the smaller species, like the cherub, for a nano. Info:

30" of swimming space, that's a 20 long, minimum. A standard 29 tall is better, a 30 long is even better. Every tank mentioned so far is too small.

Minimum tank size is about the footprint, not about the volume. If it says 30g minimum, that means 36". A 34 cube does not cut it at only 20" long.

Pygmy/dwarf angels are very active fish and get aggressive if they don't have enough space.

Dwarf angels are a crap shoot at best. I would love to have one, but with all of my corals, I'm not going to risk it. My LFS told me of someone that lost over $1,000 worth of corals almost overnight due to a dwarf angel that went for a "coral buffet"!
