Got tired of looking at my virtually empty biocube.. dang gramma always stays hidden.. so on a whim I scooped up the female clown from my 10g and plopped her in.. as she's greedy for food it was just a quick swipe when she was at the top of the tank. Now getting the male out was a PITA.. he got wise real quick. But.. after about 30 minutes he just gave up. So i've got a nice 10g reef tank just awaiting to get something cool. Decisions decisions..

MikeTR
so since no one gave me any suggestions.. smile.gif I picked up a cherub angel and an orchid dottyback.. interestingly enough they are best buds and swim around together.. cool little fish.. love em
Eole00
cherub will outgrow the 10g imo.
smokey_the_bear
you could probably keep him as a wee little fish but when he begins to grow time to go, tongue.gif theyre cool looking tho
ajmckay
Yeah I agree the cherub will probably outgrow a 10g in time... Hopefully you quarantined for now though!

I just picked up an eibli angel today. He's in QT as we speak.

I loved my Cherub Angelfish

10g is way too small for Centropyge argi.

I believe I've done my homework...it is listed as the first fish under the 10g stocking list.

That list isn't set in stone. It's merely a guide. And I can tell you, as someone with a cheruby/pygmy angel, these guys swim around a lot. I would reconsider.

I myself don't doubt that you've done your research... Actually I'm somewhat surprised that the cherub is listed under the 10g section in igreen's guide! Part of the issue IMO is having both the angelfish and the dottyback in the 10g. Would it be okay alone? I can't say I don't have experience with this fish, but still it seems like things will probably get a little cramped later on. Angelfish aren't like clownfish (which typically stay in the same 1ft area), they like a lot of room for foraging and moving about.

Anyways, the good part is that it looks like you've got plenty of LR in the tank. Just keep to a strict maintenance routine and hopefully everything will go well.

Good luck.

yeah man, look into a cool purple firefish? or something small-er? a cool cardinal? idk i have one clown in my 10g and plan on getting another baby so mabey they can pair and i'm cool with it, they get everything to themselves and i dont have guilt of crampin them. just my opinion.
MikeTR
For all ye concerned.. here's a FTS to put the little guy in perspective. Of course he'll go in whatever I upgrade to later.

Pardon the water change smile.gif

So now that I bought him.. it's time to make sure he gets all the nutrition needed.. So far I've been feeding arctipods in the morning, mysis in the evening.. need to get some veggies in there.. any recommendations? Pellets don't seem to work well because he likes to look at what he's eating for a few seconds before he chomps down and they sink too fast.. I was thinkin Fuzzy Phytes from reefnutrition.com? I think my clowns in the other tank would also enjoy it... nori is also a possibility but I don't think the clowns would go for it. Not a big fan of dried foods as I think they contribute more to cyano..
MikeTR
time to go pick up some food.. whats up with some suggestions already smile.gif
MikeTR
picked up a small package of tenera red.. fish gonna eat like a king... mysis, arctipods, red algae... think that's enough to keep him healthy?
