I was wondering if the stock lighting in a Biocube 29 is sufficient for getting good coloring out of ricordias and acans. I have quite a few and know what they looked like when I bought them and now they are lacking the intense color they had when I got them. I'm sure I need new bulbs but was weighing out if I wanted to upgrade my light just yet. I would rather keep the original hood in place if I can. I don't have any SPS and don't plan on getting any as of now.
Also, IU have heard that acan are ok in low light but if that light is pc are they still ok on the bottom or should they be closer to the top?
Thanks,

LEDS........and never have to worry again.

I've seen corals with great colors under pc's like some zoanthids and rics, and there's some cool tanks in the tank diaries forums that just use stock pc lighting. You may need new bulbs too, but in my opinion you get much better colors out of t5's and halides. LED's I haven't tried yet though, but they can be kind of pricey, even to build your own...

What are the dimensions of a biocube 29, out of curiousity?
