I'm starting to pull together the pieces for my first large reef tank, a 90g RR.

Anyone have any skimmer suggestions? I don't intend to have it real heavily stocked, I'd say in the end it will end up moderately stocked.

It will consist of the 90g display and probably a 55g sump.

Let the skimmer suggestions begin! cool.gif

Reef Octopus Extreme. My 200 is awesome.

Go oversized, you WILL upgrade tanks. If not, oh well, a little overskimming never hurt anyone.

Thanks for the input. It's one I've been looking at.

Someone told me that is about as big as they'd go for a system my size. Would you agree with that?

You can probably get away with the 150 but the 200 is better if you feel like being safe.

I think at this point I've got my eye on an Extreme 200.

I would get the SWC Xtreme 160 Cone.

Take a look at the Vertex In-180, or Reef Octo XP2000 series. Maybe too powerful.

Look at the Bubble Magus NAC6. 115 shipped

How about the ASM brand skimmers? Anyone have thoughts on those?

Pismo uses one I think. Though the larger models sometimes get a bad rep.
