All you have to do is join the site, then make 1 thread and have 25 posts then pm a mod to put you on the shipping list. I think they were going to start with a 100 polyps. Hurry as of 3-9-10 there is around 50-60. When you join go to the premium membership topic on the forums for the info. Plus they are shipping from East coast and West coast with USPS, so shipping will be cheap.

I'm in Michigan so shipping could be like $40. Not worth it IMO.

They said it would be half the price of UPS and Fedex since their doin usps. So usually fedex and ups are around 40-45? so it'll proly be under 30 for sure

They got me Lol, I was rushing to get the 25 posts. But they put me on the shipping list when I had like 17. It's their grand opening and their giving away 10 grand worth of livestock and equipment. So I'm guessin their tryin to get membys early but I'm sure it will calm down in a month or so. But right now evry1 is a premium memby till march 31st so you get the hornets... can't argue with that.

LOL they are just trying to get there member count really high. So they can contact vendors and say hey we have X amount of members it would be good for you to pay for advertising with us. I seriously doubt they are going to spend 10 grand on equipment and livestock to giveaway. Especially being a new site. But anyways hope you all get your hornets. They are a really nice coral.

Yep lawnman, that's what I'm guessing too. They claim to have a colony/colonies totaling over 1000 polyps which they couldn't sell off without flooding the market to more reasonable prices anyways and the 100 or so they are giving out is only a couple months of growth. Pretty small investment if they get enough traffic and support to build a busy forum with all the ad revenue that goes with it, as well as if their "licensing service" actually gains any popularity.

It's another bussiness,
they are hoping to make money and I think we have enough reefing stuff like that right now...

It seems everytime I open my keyboard on this forum someone is rude to me.... but, I think that if they hold up to what they say then more power to them! What better way to get members? This has everyones attention and by the looks of the "list" it is working, and fast!! I am very skeptical as to getting this coral if said person acheives the goals and ends up on the list but we should give the site a chance! Just my two cents.

I spent about 45 mins on the phone with BrentB the other day. I have never spoken with him before, but everything seems legit. I think the coral certificate idea is awesome! They are trying to hook up with a lab for DNA matches too.

And if I do get a free polyp I would otherwise not purchase that's cool too. I ahve no plans of selling them out, maybe trading or whatever. The actual value is of little concern to me, I just think they look nice.
If I get a small colony going I'll probably frag out a freebie to a friend who's starting to convert his fowlr to reef. Yeah, I'm crazy.

I don't like the coral certification idea. Kinda like grading baseball cards.You use to be able to look cards up in a Beckett and just sell them.Now if you try to sell without being graded people look at you like you have aliens coming out of your ears. I can see it now purple hornets 90 a head.But if you want them certified that will be 180 a head.Corals wil have to be certified or people won't want them in a few years LMAO

Someone should start a thread (not me since I don't qualify) to offer up a frag valued at $100 or more for free. In order for someone else to receive this frag, they would have to offer up a similarly valued frag for free.

I'm not sure at all how to police this though so people don't get screwed . There needs to be some central trusted authority involved and I have no idea how to accomplish that.

Rant Warning - The entire concept of that site is crap. Some idiot names a coral and now they are worth more money. Screw that. So now I can name a coral and then register it with that site and all of a sudden its worth 10 times what it should be. Oh thats right, I need to put a LE at the begining of it. The more people pay and buy into this crap, the more it is prepetuated. STOP paying high dollar for these stupid name corals. If everyone passes them up, the sellers will have to lower thier prices just to sell them and the overall price will drop.

If the LFS you are at says its a such and such, tell them to pound sand and walk away. There are 10 others out there with just as nice of corals.

The purple zoas you will be getting are just that, purple and yellow zoas. They are not purple hornets, and you will pay how much to ship one zoa polyp. I started to do it and said, forget that. Rant over, thanks for listening.

Oh by the way, if any one is interested, I have some authentic Deep Thief Sour Apple Polyps for sale, Yours today and today only for $10 a polyp. Tomorrow, they will go back to normal price of $20pp.

I heard of a guy that keeps purple and blue hornets under 110 watts of leds. He has a 17 inch tall tank 7 inches under the light and they grow like crazy. The guy is me. Lol

they're the only zoa good enough for my LED tank.
