im upgrading my tank tomorrow to a red sea max 130d, i have bought another 8kg of fiji live rock from my LFS and its currently in my frag tank, when i swap over, if i use the tank water from the 34g nano and move everything streight over will this be safe, ill only be adding another 30-40 litres of frash water.

will i get a cycle, and will all my corals and fish be ok, im using dry sand as the bed which i have put in tonight to settle, then the big change over tomorrow. please help, thanks

i have changed from a 1 gal to a 5 gal , a 5 gal to a 10 gal, a 12 gal to a 29 gal before. i never really had any problems. it was just like a water change to me . i just added more fresh mixed water to make up for the volume. im not sure if the "dry sand" will cause anything or not . not sure if this will help you or not but its from my experiences.

If you aren't going to be keeping any of your old filter media you mite see a small rise in amm and nitrite, mainly because you'll be leaving behind some bacteria. However with the addition of more rock, assuming it's cured you shoud have no prob
