All,
i need some help ID'ing whatever this is. I can't get a picture because my camera won't zoom in that close without distorting. I just bought some Mexican Red leg hermits. Their shell is conical and at the very tip on one of them is a hole with (2) whitish tentacle things hanging out. they can get really long (about 1" or they can be just barely hanging out). They sway around looking for things, but i don't know what it could be. when they are all streched out, you can almost see a head of something, but then it quickly goes back in the hole. Any help would be appreciated.

From what i can tell, it must be a "spionid" worm. i have never heard of this before. i tried capturing the picture to show, but that function is disabled on that site.

Spionids are harmless. The 2 feeding tentacles are a clear sign.
