That is way cool. Who is gonna DIY it first?

Yeah good idea but is a pretty cheap and easy DIY. 40$ is way too much for that.

I thought the same thing. I would probably use a smaller bucket too if I werent trying to transport a whole unch of frags. Maybe a mini verion and a full size version.

I don't think $40 is bad at all. It's a small price to pay to look professional at a frag swap. Just my $.02

That's the problem with this hobby ... at some point, empty buckets and a couple dollars in acrylic justifies $40.
G'damn it. I'd probably buy one too.

what a waste... a bucket and some frags stuck in styrofoam strapped down with a rubber band work fine.. frags float upside down not touching the bottom or other frags.

Please show me where you can get that much acrylic for a couple bucks. Unless you're buying in bulk that much acrylic will run you at least $25. A bucket is probably $3-4, $15 bucks for labor on the hole cutting/gluing and overhead sounds pretty damn reasonable to me.

I think that's a great idea, I'd pay $40 for it!
In fact, maybe I just will!

I think it's a pretty awesome idea as well, and the price is perfectly adequate. if frag swaps existed in las vegas I'd be all over a couple of these.

yeah, $40 is very reasonable. there is more to a product than just the cost of materials.

I could build something like this for much less. I've got plenty of square buckets laying around from cat food/litter. just to get some acrylic or eggcrate or even plexiglass would do. I'd say 20$ max cost counting an hour - hour and a half labor (if you were to pay yourself for it).

Thats great for shipping. This is awesome because you put your frags in the acrylic at home then stack them in the bucket. When you get to the show simply pull the acrylic rack out and place them in your tank. No need to rubberband anything.

Take that one step further.
Use the acrylic racks in your Prop Tank (I would) and then just pick up the racks and put them in the bucket along with some water for the show.
Super simple.

So I started a consignment tank at the lfs and had a need to carry bunches of frags on frag plugs. A five gallon IO bucket, a couple of pieces of eggcrate and PVC pipe, maybe five minutes of time and I had a two tier frag carrier. Could have added another but the frags were pretty big and water is pretty heavy, so no reason to stretch my arm carrying them. Held $300 in frags (at $10/frag) and I came home happy.
$40 indeed.
Now the latest edition of Coral magazine comes out with an acrylic rack system with good arguments for why it's superior to eggcrate. Now that I can handle too, after a visit to Lowe's and a craft store.

It may look better, but I doubt very seriously it works any better.

Me too.... Mine has a heater-holder.
(then again, not everyone has a 200w power inverter in their truck)

Yea, and not everyone lives in DrDemento California, where they likely need one!
