The book covers lighting, filtration, coral color, placement, flow, pests, cures, qt, flood control, dosing, selection, acquisition, pricing etc... in a quick and handy reference. For the new coral keeper who doesn't want a coral farm, if you just replace the word "farm" with "your tank" in the book, you will get all the info you need; if you come prepared with a general idea of the cycle, parameters etc...Miguel doesn't have any filler, and you should understand the basics of how an aquarium works, because the book goes from there. It is about coral husbandry, not how to setup a fish tank. Makes it much easier to read if you have been in the hobby for more than a few months. Every page has something useful, and the tips and tricks section for each coral gives you more than the care info you receive in a product description. A quick and dirty guide to keep coral alive and looking its best. No rambling about "how this does that which doesn't matter b/c you can't see it without a microscope etc....", he gets to the point - efficiency, survival, color and growth.
The commercial aspects of the book are pretty spot on. Miguel doesn't tell you everything, but he certainly gives out more than he should.....
