Hello everyone,

The adventure began a few months ago with a new freshwater system. A month later, I decided what I really wanted was a reef tank. A BC14 later, I took the plunge and went with a custom tank to perfectly fit on the back of my desk.

Sounds great, right? Ambitious, but great?

On Friday I found out that I got a job in Buenos Aires, Argentina that pays about double what I make now. I've spent time in Buenos Aires, and after thinking about it long and hard, I decided to take it. I leave 18 May.

Now, there was one detail I never thought to consider. My reefkeeping habit! (Well, perhaps more of an addiction.) I know that I can't take anything down there with me because I don't know how much time I'll really have to devote to reefkeeping, and it's just best to start fresh.

So... My giant headache is your awesome sale! My BC14 thread is here if anyone wants to take a look, and when I decided to give up on the freshwater tank, I started this classifieds thread.

I have to sell all of the equipment from my freshwater tank (3 mo. old), my Biocube 14 (2.5 mo. old), and my custom 58" x 9" x 24" (some new, some 1 mo. old - mostly sump). The most ridiculous thing about it all is that some of it I purchased within 30 days... but of course, being a complete idiot, I threw away all of the packaging.

I will be very diligent in packing and shipping everything so that it will not be damaged. If your item is damaged, let me know, and we'll work it out. Everything will be shipped with insurance - no exceptions. USPS, UPS, and/or FedEx may be used based on pricing and individual requirements. All items are available for delivery within 1 hour of downtown Dallas ($50 minimum purchase).

The prices listed below are low to begin with, but if you really want to negotiate bulk buys, etc, we may be able to do that.

Since I am fairly new to nano reef (<3 months), I will accommodate the security measures of your choice.

I have had one buyer so far - gdayskippy - and he can give you feedback about my selling. I'm going to really work on packing everything well.

The price quoted is for domestic shipping. To ship internationally or to hawaii/alaska, an additional charge would be added in the exact amount of the difference between domestic and international shipping.

I live in the UK; I don't know why I read Nano-Reef, except for the info. Just looking for that particular pump for my Fluval Edge.
STR
There would be an additional shipping fee of $10 for the nano if shipped USPS international 6-10 day.
STR
Added items from custom aquarium. Prices to follow, but if you're in a hurry let me know what you're interested in and we'll see what we can come up with.

The live rock can be seen in my BC 14 thread, linked on the first post.

The T5 lights are 30" and the legs will go in all the way until they touch each other. There is one switch per light fixture, each of which has a 10k bulb and an actinic bulb.

I'm interested in "inTank BC14 Media Basket ($38 + shipping) $25 shipped", please check your PM's.

get a bunch of newspaper and soak it with water...then wrap the rock in the newspaper and stick it in a large plastic bag probably want to double bag it. Stick it in an appropriately sized box and ship. Some dieoff is bound to happen but thats how most places ship live rock....

^^ That's exactly how mine was shipped; double bagged, wrapped in wet newspaper. The guy (Ken @ sealifeinc.net, highly recommend) even put some Styrofoam on the walls, floor, and top of the box. I'm in FL so it didn't take long to receive, but I bet this would help for longer shipping times / more dramatic climate changes.
STR
I think the styrofoam was to keep the rock from crumbling.

I think I'm going to wrap it in lots of wet paper towels and add about a gallon extra of water just for good measure. I'm going to double bag it and rubber band the ends real tight. I don't think I'm going to use the styrofoam since the pieces are so small + the water will cushion.

Excess water is going to add serious weight to the package. If you're doing overnight/priority wet newspaper should do the trick.
STR
Overnight/priority was REALLY expensive. UPS ground is a lot cheaper, so I figure if I ship it right, it can make it. The difference between 25 lbs and 40 lbs for UPS ground is really small.

Just so everyone knows, I shipped it USPS priority in 2 large flat-rate boxes. I padded the corners with packing peanuts and put in slightly smaller box, which I taped very well to prevent leakage. I then put the rocks wrapped in paper towels triple bagged in that box with about 1 gallon extra water. I did both boxes that way, and I wouldn't recommend putting more than 10 pounds of rock in each one. So, if you're only shipping a little bit of rock, it seemed to work really well. 10 lbs would be about $1.40 / pound, although you have to add the cost of the paper towels, plastic bags, inside box, tape, and packing peanuts.

Also, the first post has been updated to reflect the sale of the CO2 tank + regulator and the refractometer and 150W heater.

Just wondering if you would be willing to do $100 for both Aqua Lights? And what bulbs would come in them. Thanks!

I just got a heater and a refractometer from STR. Both work great and are in excellent condition! I also received them 3 days after paying, very fast.
