So I added this RBTA a couple of days ago to my tank. I decided I should try to feed it in case it has been a while it took the food ( a chunk of frozen mysis about size of a quarter) but several hours later regurgitated it in a white ball like thing I removed it as soon as it was all the way out so I wouldn't hurt the nem but is this a normal thing? Should I worry is it because it was already full? Or stressed?

BTW my nem is about 5" in diameter kept under MH and perameters are stable.

Perhaps you over fed it, try smaller portions and see what happens.

Make sure the food is thawed all the way as well. If it is still frozen or very cold, the BTA will initially accept it, but will spit it back out once ingested. Give it a day or two and try again. Definately use smaller portions. They like silversides, squid and krill too. Mine are about your size and I feed then pieces about the size of a pea a couple of times a week.

Ok thanks guys this is my first one hope I didn't hurt it

And just as an FYI, after they eat, especially if it's food with indigestible parts (like fish bones, scales, etc.) they will throw up the indigestible parts in a stringy black ball-like mass some time later. That is normal as well.

ok thats what this looked like but it was white you can see the mysis still whole in there.

it was probably too much too fast.

Feed silversides, its so much easier. 1/4inch piece unless the nem is really small. The piece should only be as big as its mouth.

And my nems never regurgitate anything from silversides, they digest it whole.
