Any Ideas?

A picture underwater would be more helpful.

They look exactly the same in the water. Meaning they aren't flowy like xenia or something like that. They are hard. Any one else have any ideas? =/

Sponges are normally squishy and soft to the touch. These white things are rock hard. Can sponges be hard?

But when submerged does it feel the same? A lot of common hitchhiker organisms can survive a period out of the water - and a lot of those have a special mechanism to do so, perhaps it would be easier to identify if it was extended or whatever the normal look would be. Also they don't seem to be quite in focus, any chance of getting a pic that has those in focus instead of the LR around it? In my experience it's usually just repeating the shot from slightly different distances, but it could help the ID.

do you mean the tubes for the worms? or the clams in the picture? there are a few hard white things in that shot...

yeah, the focus is on the tubeworms, but he's probably talking about the clams.

Yeah.. sorry about the focus being on the tube worm. The two larger white things are what i'm wondering about. If they are clams, that's cool. I've had this LR for a year or so and never noticed them before. I'll just keep my eye on them and see if they change at all.
