Not sure, the shallow cube idea kinda fell to the back of my head. Might trade the 14g biocube in for a 29g biocube or possibly a 20H with MH. Need something I can keep a nem in. I know it's not as fancy but it would probably be a lot easier on me.

Now the question comes up. Do I start looking for the clowns now and if I find a nice young pair (giggle) put them in the 14g BC until I decide to set up the dedicated tank? Or build the tank first, then look for the clowns?

umm just to get into the whole MK thing.....you guys forgot
FRIENDSHIP
Anyways, 1000 people can have clown fish that dont jump. That dont mean a DAMN thing. My male picasso jumped. Since then i made an acrylic cover for the tank so the female doesnt jump. She sleeps at the top of the surface and its scary.
So, if i were you, i would do a cube. A 30g cube drilled for a sump with a center or corner overflow. Or just get the new LED biocube and make it easy on yourself. AIO's are awesome.

I would do a cube. Whether thats an AIO cube like a HQI BC29 or just an Oceanic 33 with glass lids is up to you.

Wait....What does this have to do with your wife messing up? Did I miss that part?
Personally I would probably go with a 29 drilled for a sump. Kind of do two islands for the rockwork and run a nice skimmer and filter sock, and light and call it a day. Maybe throw some macro in there too.

I'd say 18" true cube with a canopy and 150 or 250 halide. Just about perfect for a large RBTA and a pair of picassos. The canopy would remove some aesthetics from the build, but its that or kid of doom/ carpet surfing.

We had our picassos in an open top 20h with cats in the house lol.
But my ideal setup for that would be something a little larger (30g?) Shallow, open top and rimless, with a sort of cove thing going on to have the anemone hopefully showcased in the middle.
I had 2 nemo's jump out but no picasso

Ok, not my videos but officially my fish now. I also ordered a regular percula from the same breeder. There is one grade A, the single, and a pair of grade B's. The grade A and the grade B with the double middle stripe will be paired and the regular percula will be paired with the other grade B. All are offspring from an original ORA pair. I ordered them off Doni's Reef website. She has been breeding them at her house for quite a while and has a great thing going. Always WYSIWYG buying and has the best communication of anyone I have ever seen.
Grade AGrade B'sThe snowcassos she sells go extremly fast but I might be looking for some in about 2 months.

Yep...that was me!

I actually had purchased another grade A earlier in the week and was waiting for today to pair it with another. But when I saw the snowcasso I asked Doni if I could switch it out. So my first choice was the A+ and then got the snowcasso. Amazing how fast her fish go! But from what I've read she seems to have her sh*t together! And she emails you back within minutes!

That is no joke, the most accomodating "business" I've ever seen. When she was first starting out I pmed her with a bunch of questions about breeding and she always wanted to help. She still will and keeps no "trade secrets" she is just really dedicated.

I've done the 40 breeder thing, a little larger than I was wanting to do. I've about narrowed it down to a Aqueon cube with a screen top or a 20h, thanks though.

If you haven't decided already I'd suggest
- getting the Biocube29 as it's a good size for BTA front and center
- not getting the HQI unless you get a chiller
- getting the nanocustoms 5.6LED upgrade
I'm super happy with my Chesa/Cube29 but will do LED before long.

Got mine today! They are doing great!!! It worked out well cause my A+ is a little bigger than my Snow. And they are already doing the dance. Bigger one acting dominant.

Acclimating both pairs. I split the pair of B's up and put the one with the "better looking" markings with the A. The other B got stuck with the normal percula. They are super tiny, about an inch I would say (not good at estimating size) but look good for riding halfway across the country. Can't say enough about the way Doni packs them. Never seen such care put into shipping. I would gladly pay the shipping cost for her to ship them. Individual bagged in breathable bags, individual wrapped in styrofoam sheets, individual wrapped in newspaper, all wrapped in news paper, packed with multiple sheets of newspaper, lined with newspaper, all inside a brand new styrofoam box with a heatpack wrapped in multiple sheets of news paper taped to the lid. All inside a new cardboard box marked with very large "Perishable" and "Live Fish" printings on all sides.
Whew, think I covered it.
Anyways, they look good. As long as they survive my acclimation process they should be fine. Two are going in the biocube, the other two are going in a 10g I set up last night until I figure out what to do with them.
Most likely won't have pics until tomorrow since I am going to leave the lights off today but hopefully tomorrow. Just wanted to share my thoughts on the shipping.

Glad yours were fine too. It always amazes me how fish can be shipped like that.
Can you imagine how many fish she ships out each week. And that's exactly how mine were packed. She does a great job.
They are pretty small aren't they? I made sure all the openings on my tank are covered. Just in case.
Can't wait to see pics. I need to revive my thread on here. Started with the RSM then upgraded to the 90 and now it's a 75. All I need to do is change the name!

Lots of nem keepers keep more than 2 clownfish in one tank. If he wants do that, it would be a good idea to house them together, or he will have 2 pairs. If he houses them together, he will have one dominant female, it's mate, and 2 juveniles.

I was going to put them all in the biocube but I don't think I will. I wanted to pair them up so there wasn't any extra fighting. I'm not even 100% sure I am keeping the second pair. I bought the B pair to get one of them and bought the regular perc in order to have 2 pair. I will most likely have room for 4 pair, not including this A/B pair and the B&W ORA misbars in the 90g when I am done.

Mag float makes an acrylic scraper. Personally i like the look of long tanks with a good width and some what shallow, id do something 30x15x15 or something. Diy ftw. The tank im workin on currently is 30x16x16 aio, and i love the shape of the display area. Good luck with your decision on a tank. Diy is much more rewarding in the end:)

Well not me, I'm married, but hoping they will.
I mainly just want to see if I can do it, not that I actually have the time. I will be picking up a few more clowns as the system comes together. Selling the rest of my corals off and getting rid of a system in the way of where my broodstock system will go. I am getting way ahead of myself here.
