I've used the $400 Alien Bees ting flash and it was a piece of crap. It was basically falling apart out of the box.
IMO I'd go with one of the cheaper ones like you are looking at.

the thing i like about the one i picked up (the first one) was that those metal attaching rings are metal not plastic like a few others i had looked at
