I purchased this coral from Live Aquaria and received it on Tuesday and today is Friday and it has yet to open up. I have it on the bottom of the aquarium out of the direct current. Any ideas, should I try moving it?

I would place it somewhere with med-high light and med flow and LEAVE IT BE. MY duncan was giving me fits opening slightly or not opening at all for days and days but I mounted it and a few days of not being moved and it is back to being happy. I thought I was going to lose it for a couple weeks after I upgraded tanks but now it is good to go. Once it opens up feed it mysis/krill/brine/cyclops and watch the polyps get HUGE!
Just my experience with my duncan.

If you want to make it open, take some frozen cyclopeeze and cut off the flow and pump and spray it with a bit of frozen cyclopeeze (or something tasty, not dry food). They are such PIGS...both of my frags came right out when they smelled the food and I have spoiled them rotten with the frozen cyclopeeze each day, so much that one is popping up a new head only after a week in my tank.

These things can really eat a lot.

mine took several days to fully open. I have a single head of it. It slowly started opening it and I decided to try feeding it NLS pellet food, and it readily accepts it. After feeding it that first time, its always open, except at night.

What is NLS food? I have tried shutting down the filters and everytime I feed my fish frozen brine I use a turkey baster to spray right at them, The have yet to open up for me. I am afraid they will die from not being fed. Any more idea's?

NLS is a brand of food, New Life Spectrum. Don't panic give it time, you cant make it open and attempting to do so may just piss it off more.
