Looks kinda like rock flower anemone but less colorful, i would pay attention to small fish and inverts that might get eternally tangle in its tentacles. i had one similar and it ate my Emerald crab.

Agree with John here. American Warty Anemone, Bunodosoma cavernata.

it may not be that stressed actually if you just got it. I kind of overlooked that, it may just be getting use to its new home. i like the idea of stranding him on a rock with sand around. they dont like the sand so much. otherwise they crawl everywhere and get themselves lost at times in rock work.
feed it mysis, will love you for it, and hopefully help it settle in.

Yeah the picture was taken 10-15 minutes after I added him in. I'll make sure to feed him some mysis tonight (maybe tomorrow just to give him some time to settle in).
So whats the deal if it is a wharty anemone. Low/high light? non-photosynthetic? cold/warm water?

they can tolerate a wide range. from the keys for sure(maybe further south too, just never been further south) to the Carolinas from what I read.
yep they are photosynthetic, but they do better for me with feedings at least. colors improve too they get all puffy... it is a cool nem. I think it killed some sps i had in its adventures, but I didnt really care much.
