After having my RBTA since october-ish it finally split. It was somewhere around 10 inches wide (just guess i never put a ruler to it). I have been yelling at this thing to split for the past few months just because he has gotten so big and obnoxious. I was even contemplating cutting him soon although i was scared to lose him because they never show up for sale in my area. I got home from work last night and was wondering why he looked so weird (semi deflated and in an odd position compared to where he normally is).

I went to bed around 10pm as i was tired, although i usually go to bed around 4am and just woke up to see the crazy event. I've had an anemone split once before but i never caught it in the act.

Sorry for the crude pictures, but my regular camera was dead and its lights out, so i had to flashlight the tank and take a few shots with my iphone. There is an obnoxious reflection in the tank, my fuge lights were shinning on the white wall and door next to it, again sorry.

Might be a 3way split, im not 100% yet but it looks like the big part, a smaller part, then a tiny part. The smaller part and the tiny part are only hooked by a thread, so it looks like i will have 3 if they all make it!

Congratulations, you got it in October and it is splitting in March? Pretty quick, it took mine much longer, thought it'd never split. Update with a better photo.

I thought mine would never split also. When i bought the anemone it was already about 8 inches in diameter. So it was big to start with. The guy i got it from said his split around 8-10 inches, so it was only a matter of time until it got so big it wanted to split. My lighting, water quality, and flow are awesome so i know it wasnt stress induced.

Some updated shots, it was a 3 way split so as of right now i have 3 of them. The two big ones look to be doing fine though one of them is hiding behind the rocks. Normal activity after a split trying to heal itself up. The smallest one of the split looks a bit like a "reject", he couldnt keep his foot planted in my 40B so i moved him to my 24g nanocube. The water parameters in both tank are pretty much the same as far as amm, nitrite, nitrate, sg, and temp. If i didnt move him he would have gotten chopped to bits by my powerheads or stuck in the overflow.

He could split, but then again might just get massive and not split.
