Full Version: feeding market prawn pollute water?

after feeding market prawn, my tank water surface has lots of bubbles
my skimmer skim out a lot of stuff too
i have no such issue with feeding mysis shrimp

Sorry, I know that's not helpful. Maybe you should try rinsing them thoroughly before feeding.

peel, cut and freeze
wash before feeding
clear uneaten 15 mins later

used it to feed my eel as mysis shrimp does not sink

I hope someone else pops in here for you, as I haven't done this before.

Anyway, try changing your process up. Maybe:
• peel, cut, wash, and freeze
thaw, drain, and wash before feeding
• clear uneaten 15 5 mins later

I doubt it would make a big difference, but what if you peeled, washed, and fed (without freezing) as a test?

i feed my corals and fish frozen prawns. took one big one and cut it in half. half is minced up with garlic for the fish, the other half cut up and fed to my nem.

my fish goes ape #### over the meat!
