All I got is my crappy phone in my droid

Oooh, nice.

Great pick- one of the best primes on the market! Definitely looking forward to seeing what you do with it..it's on my list of stuff to get...eventually.

this is my 2nd copy..I bought it back the first week it was released few years back..It had a very very bad miss focus on shooting anything past 10feet or so..it was AWESOME wide open and closer but anything further out was a crap shoot. I sent it to Sigma and back then they said it was in spec. So now I am giving it another go because they have added an update firmware to it and now I have the ability to microadjust in my 1DIII...from the sample pics the guy sent me it looks to be pretty accurate.
this was a shot I took with the first copy I had few years back

nice. its a great lens

Our talk of the 50mms in the other forum made me curious-- how is your new copy holding up? I have a friend who's considering this lens, and coupled with my curiosity I'd love to see some more recent shots if you have any--or rather if you don't could just throw a few here up when you take them?

I've been increasingly looking into primes because I only have a 18-50 and I constantly catch myself only shooting at 18mm or 50mm and physically moving myself towards/away from the subject which is stupid because I have the ability to zoom in or out and achieve the desired shot. I'm stuck with sigma because of my camera body, but I was considering trading in my 18-50 for and sticking with the 50mm F/1.4 for a standard walk-around lens. The 30mm is probably better for walk around use in terms of focal length, but I've read a decent amount of reviews that suggest it's caliber isn't exceptional.

I really havnt even been able to use it yet..weather was crappy most of last week when I finally got my Body back from Canon.
I took a few test shots I hope to get out and use it this weekend.
these are all shot at 1.4

Nice!

Those are some sharp shots, how far from your truck were you in relation to the flower ?

05XRunner
the flower I have no idea that was like 2years ago..but I would guess maybe 3feet or so..the truck was around 10-15feet away for the full truck shot.

Those look great! Definitely update if you take some more shots soon!

Also, don't mean to be a bother, but do you use flickr or photobucket and have the originals uploaded? The photos you posted are nice but I'd also like to take a look at the full size images if you wouldn't mind terribly?

I know you said a crappy photo from your droid, but I think the pic is actually pretty good.

I use photobucket but all the shots I upload to photobucket are resized by me in photoshop for web to 1024
I can give you a 100% crop if you want to see

Oh one thing about my pics..They are edited with a typical 2min Post process. Some contrast on it, USM applied and adjust a little of the highlights and shadows. I dont believe in judging straight out of the camera. I shoot in raw with sharpness on zero and in Neutral mode. so everything is basically left for me to apply how I want the image to look. Thats what the purpose of all the control is so I never understood people wanting to see straight out of the camera. it doesnt really mean much unless the image is a total wash then nothing helps.

Good to know before viewing your images, I hadn't thought to ask how your processed the images.
