currently have a randall's (red candy stripped) pistol shrimp, fighting conch, 2 blue leg hermits, 2 dwarf zebra hermits. i made a pvc barnacle home for the pistol and he has stayed in it since day 1.
i planned to get a yellow clown goby but after reading how picky they are i decided against it. instead i want to get 5 sexy shrimp and 1 porcelain crab. my question is would these guys all get along? is a porcelain crab the same as an anemone crab? i want to get this purple porcelain crab here.
http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/847/product.web because it looks more interesting, but it has a different scientific name and was wondering if they were reef safe and had the same characteristics as the white anemone crab with red/brown spots

Sexy shrimp and porcelin crabs will be fine, you may have some problems with the pistol, but the candy cane is one of the more peaceful pistols.

They will get along fine.
I disagree with you two about the pistol shrimp. Randall's Pistol Shrimps are extremely reef safe and won't harm anytrhing. It has not harmed my Sexy Shrimp even when the Sexy was less than 1/2" long.

I have a 12G cube with the following stocklist
Misc blue legged zebra hermits and red reef/dwarf hermits
Snails of all sorts, algae and meat eaters
One firefish
Candy cane pistol and High fin Goby
Porcelain crab
Pom Pom crab
Skunk cleaner
2 sexy shrimp (3rd soon)
The candy canes are super peaceful as long as something doesnt literally force itself right into its main burrow, and even then my candy cane is small and it took a LOT of snapping and pinching and clickity clacking to make a nassarius snail (as big as the pistol, hah!) finally leave when it stuck its eye stalk into its claw.
If it had been a sexy it would have teleport hopped (they really are FAST hoppers!) out of there so quick it would never escalate to the pistol actually doing much attacking. Probably just a warning click.

I have a purple porcelain crab. It is very peaceful. My only complaint is that it is very shy. If I move too fast by it it hides. However, it found a good spot in the back of my tank opposite the powerhead. It pretty much lives in that spot with it's feeders out all the time. So, I always know where I can find it.
100% reef safe. I did a lot of research before buying one. It's the only moving thing in my tank aside from the snails. I don't trust any other inverts with my corals.
BTW, they're actually lobsters despite the name.
Also, I've read that emerald crabs have a habit of killing porcelains. FYI.

thanks mr.microscope. my porcelain crab decided it liked my pistol shrimps pvc home so it sits at the barnacle entrance all the time. the pistol has since moved under the rock that is being supported by the pvc so im not worried about it collapsing. plus its the only rock in the tank so i always know where he is. im seriously thinking of getting another one though in hopes that they will stick together and find a new spot so my pistol can go back to his house

That's odd. Sorry to hear he kicked him out.

it wasnt an aggression thing. he just likes the cover and the pistol is a lot smaller than the porcelain crab so he relocated instead of trying to boot the crab out

Doesn't seem like a bad mix, but I've heard that conchs are really only suitable for larger (40+ gallon) tanks because of their feeding/sand sifting requirements. I've considered adding one to my tank but have always seen them advertised online with a large tank being listed as a requirement.

^^^ Depends on the conch.
I have a Tonga Fighting Conch who has been doing great in my 12G Eclpise for almost a year.

yeah this guy has been in the tank since i switched from a 12g aquapod to this 6g nc. i really want to get some nano conches though. i cant imagine how cool it would be to have a small army of them, its cooler than a group of nassarius snails!
4 more sexy shrimp and another porcelain crab is def in the works.
