I know that Skunk Clownfish can vocalize when they feel disturbed or threatend. Lately at night when one of my B/W spooks I have heard a squeaking. I have never heard it before, it happens when the clown is sleeping next to the output and the other clown bumps into and the clown gets startled. Anyone else notice this?

I have not heard my clown make a noise ever. That would spook me out.

Only the rare ocellaris dolphin hybrids make the squeaky noises. They're tough to cross breed, but once you do you can teach your clownfish to jump through little hoops.

Hi,
Since I posted this way back when, I have done some more reading on the subject. NPR actually has a recording on their site of clowns chirping or grunts. The most vocal seem to be the skunk clownfish.
Since that time I have heard my male B/W chirp twice when he was suddendly spooked at night. I was on the couch, I heard him splash, chirp and then hit the lid of the tank. The female had startled him while he was sleeping.
