I want to build a small clownfish breeding setup,
around 100 gallons of tank for breeding and a 50 gallon sump.
No body keeps corals so propogating zoas and palys is a waste,
however people keep lots fo fish and pay well for them.
What is a good way to build this?
I'm assuming doing a long tank then adding baffels with teeth,
then have it plumbed into the sump.
Pictures would be great,
I saw a few great setups but I can't remember where,
and my freind keeps on asking, I still can't remember where I saw them.

Are you wanting to do brood-stock and larvae on the same system? is that the 100g or is the 100g just for brood-stock. From what I've seen doing multiple 10g plumbed together works well so then you do not to have all of them "on" at one time depending on the number of pairs.
Check out MOFIB.com
Also know that it will take at least about 6 months till you will start making any money after you've hatched your first eggs.

marinebreeder.org has alot of info on setups for broodstock and grow out system.

also, check out the book Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson.

Thanks for the info I'll do some searching and look at the links.

Get the Wilkerson book - it tells you everything to do pretty much step by step, including links in the back for live food, supplies, etc.

One thing I wouldn't do is run the rot feeding tanks together with your broodstock - the amount of waste that is produced is enough to fill every tank attached to it with ammonia.

How far is the ocean???? with the power of evechanging water you could start a factory. I'm 500 miles inland and have helped in the process of raising clowns, it would be a piece of cake for you

I am 3 miles from the ocean.
It's a 100 foot cliff and I don't think running a pipe through the gulch to the ocean would work unless I had free pie and a free pump smile.gif
The law here is basically the water can't dump anything into the ocean.
There are people who live right on the water,
I'm not one of them.

My friend is stabbing me with questions.
I need to find where I can buy roftiers and phytoplankton,
maybe from a local university or something.
