Not yet. I don't know why, but the iron place is taking it's time. On a side note, just finished a water change. Ohh,starting yesterday, I can make $30 plus a week. I need to open a lawnmowing business.

mowing yards can be a great job to get through school. 20-30 yards a week x 20-30 $ a week x 4 =

just get your self a pick up. then have forth. had a couple friends who turned their high school collage job into something worth while for them selfs after they graduated.
oh & hers a trick talk dad into matching you dollar for dollar put a grand each into a roth IRA for like 6-8-10 years depending when you start (6 is starting at 14). you'll end up with 2 million to play with and not have to add any thing to it after your like 20ish.

Hi Bitts. Finally got on. Back to school means 5 hours of homework. It sucks. Trying to reduce nutrient levels, as cyano went off again. May be time for a phosspad change.

QUOTE (Oceanus @ Aug 21 2010, 02:13 PM)

coming up. This are crappy and I didn't have time to clean the glass. Homework is robbing me.

Taken with Nikon D80, JPEG fine (can't get RAW onto the computer), macro mode.
these things take up 5mb a piece, which is why it takes 6 pics forever to upload. Will try for better ones tonight. Cyano sucks. I don't have a decent skimmer, and my DIY Weetabix fuge's output got killed, so trying to wean my way into a sump w/ a fuge. I can forfeit the skimmer for now, or the fuge, but not both.
Tank is looking nice

Thanks C. Actually, it deserves the ugliest tank of the year award for the cyano.

dang nice rock work.
sump is good first step. could you diy one. weren't we talking about a 20l would fitting.
could you get a skimmer. even a remora would work, in sump would be better or external like am's even better. i have a couple plans i could post/you could download. would need sketchup.
& yeah the light still rocks.
Oceanus
Aug 25 2010, 07:48 PM
Bitts, I'm getting an Aqueon ProFlex sump. Small Iwaki.
I cuoldn't fit an xtra 20l in the sump.
Remora, huh? Too small.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Deltec shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
bitts
Aug 25 2010, 09:53 PM
way to little bang for the buck.
yes it rocks, but still sticker shock.
just wait & see what AM's does.
that or a good downdraft / becket is what would be best from your plans.
the remora is my standard spend a 100 bucks use it sell it for a 100 bucks used skimmer. its nice for when you need something temporary. yes way to small.
Oceanus
Aug 25 2010, 10:15 PM
I was kidding about Deltec. I'd take the Remora, but I want to grab something that'll be large enough the first time.
Would do an EV400, but they're too tall.
Maybe Hydor performer, or smaller EV or a downdraft. Precision Marine or E.T.S.S.
bitts
Aug 25 2010, 10:26 PM
something more like these
http://www.superskimmer.com/ETSS_600.htmhttp://www.proteinskimmer.com/Product%20Pa...EV%20Series.htmhttp://www.precisionmarine.com/html/bullet_series.htmli would probably go with the pm or aquaC since they would have less up keep.
now dont get me wrong i like my euro-reef but they have become a little to spendy
actually i lied there not that bad for the insump modles.
http://www.reefdynamics.com/Standard-In-Su...kimmers-s/1.htmdont forget to search before you choose.
Oceanus
Aug 25 2010, 10:31 PM
yes. I was looking at the bullet 2. I don't want to get an EV180 because I'd like the 400. But, as luck would have it, I cant fit one of those in.
I think that maybe the Bullet 2, or mayyyybe the EV240 would work.

the bullet 2 would be the pm i'd pick, & yeah the 400 needs to be shorter. that or some how taller would be cool. like maybe 5 feet or so standing next to the tank. mmm....
but yeah id say one of those two but the euro-reefs run great & those prices are pretty good.
maybe the 180, it would be about 300 les than the other two.
of the two i think the aquaC is easier to remove the cup.
but almost forgot to mention octopus they were always brought up as a cheaper version of the euro-reefs.
Oceanus
Aug 26 2010, 05:47 PM
Thing be, a Euroreef is insump and I'd have to sacrifice my refugium.
Bitts, you gave me an idea. EV400, standing next to the tank!!!!!

Mines not even in the stand currently. Too many problems, it needs to be on a stand to have right levels with the sump but it's too giant for that.
