I would to start by saying hello and that this forum and it's member are amazing. I found this forum about two weeks ago, and all the great information here further directed my decision to start my first ever tank. This forum really is an inspiration!


I decided to start small and went with a BC14.

Mods:

1. Cut the tab from chamber one to two.
2. Removed the bio-balls.
3. Knocked out the floors in chamber one and two ( I did some bleeding on this part...knuckles slamming into plastic is nay good, lol)
4. Maxijet 900
5. Koralia nano
6. InTank Media Rack ( Not currently in the tank, but should arrive this week)

Thats about it for now. Going with stock lighting for the time being. I really would like to upgrade to a MH light, but I'll worry about that later. Now for some pictures!

I'm taking to slow now. Going to let it cycle and do its thing. I'm still uncertain of what all I want to stock it with. Im more interested in corals than fish but will have a fish or two I'm sure. I'll keep reading the forums and informing myself so I can make a good decision about what to stock in the tank. Thanks to everyone who reads my post. I will update with pics of anything I add to the tank.

You are off to a good start. Congratulations on the new set up. I noticed the glock on your table. Looks like we have similar hobbies haha. I cary a LCP in a holster made by Uncle George. Ever heard of him? He is from TX too.

Small update. I added some more LR and a couple corals to the tank. I am in the process of researching lighting fixures, as I would like to stock SPS and of course stock BC14 lighting won't cut it. I have my eyes on the ATI SunPower 4 x 24" 24 light but am unsure if that would be too much for a BC14 or not. I know it's powerful enough that I could use on a bigger tank which I know will be in my future but just not sure about using it on my current tank. Anway here are some new pics.

Green Zoas. Im sure they have some super crazy name like Green Neon Super extra dragon eye flame zoas, but to me they are green zoas. =)

Haha that is so true!! Some of these names are ridiculous! They sure are pretty though. Good luck with your tank!

Put in LEDS!!!!!! I did for my BC and it's awesome. Have a bunch of SPS and a clam and it looks sweet...

I have considered that option, but I don't want to spend that type of money on something specifically for my BC14. I'd rather spend that money on say the sunpower fixture and not only be able to use it on my BC14 but on a larger tank as well.
