i hope it comes out good the only thing im worried about is that i want to change my sand during the swap from my 29g but idk what this will do to the params or maybe even start it into another cycle. i have no clue

well i was informed by marine depot that my light suspension order was on back order for two weeks. so i had to order it elsewhere. but i will have pics of the light hanger too.

Because it's a damn sweet looking build!

Feb 27 2010, 02:55 AM
Thank you! It is my first real build. I don't count my 29g cause it was half ass. But it's 2am and I have everything in buckets including fish. I have the sand and the half the water in the new tank. I managed to not get cloudy water with dry sand. But I'm tired so I will post some pics tomorrow as well as start scaping

Like your tank
I've also got the PM sump and the IN-80. I'm using the Wavepoint 36 with two Koralias one each side.
What do you think of the skimmer, tank, and sump so far?

i like the sump since i didnt have one on the 29gallon. but i wish the bubble trap had another baffle. im still dealing with the skimmer break in. i almost have all the micro bubbles gone. i like the skimmer its quiet. but kinda jumpy on adjustments. im sure its still breaking in though
thanks evryone. i still think i need some more live rock. and alot more coral but i may go get a clam or coral today maybe both. not sure yet depends on the bank account ha ha. im kind dealing with a small algae problem but im sure its the new sand

great upgrade, how do you like having those drawers.
SWEETLOU
Mar 8 2010, 04:20 PM
They are fake drawers. They were more of a cosmetic thing. I wanted to make them functional but my braces got it the way. The way I did it was a bit of overkill but I figured better safe than sorry

thanks. i love the light. i really like not having to turn it on/off. the built in schedule is nice. it has alot of light my corals seem to like it.

i scrape the back. i think the scraper i got is made by kent. i wish i could get it off of the overflow box. its starting to build up on it and the scraper doesnt work cause the overflow is kinda textured.

I have to do a smaller volume upgrade in the next week or so, and I am wondering if you noticed your tank recycling at all? I am, to put it mildly, terrified. your tank looks pretty good, so you can't have had many problems, if any... any suggestions for a fellow reefer?

just diatoms from the new sand i used. but thats about the only issue i had. just use new sand and reuse all your old water. other than that its pretty simple. what are you upgrading too?

Interesting point. I'm looking to upgrade from a solana 34 and was trying to decide if a similar sized oceanic 58 would feel big enough. Have been comparing it against a 75.

its a major difference from my 30g. i only say i want a bigger one because i have just always wanted a giant display tank. i really enjoy the 57 though.
