Full Version: Deionization media recommendation?

Hi all.

I have an add-on deionization cartridge/canister from Kent Marine. I noticed that the media inside is starting to turn a rust color, indicating that it is time to change the cartridge.

Can someone recommend a decent replacement? Drs. Foster & Smith wants over $40 for a new Kent Marine DI Cartridge.

I definitely recommend Spectrapure but here are some sale prices they are offering right now to save you a few bucks.

You probably want the SilicaBuster cartridge for $18 its the best bang for your buck. I am not really a fan of color changing resins myself but Spectrapure tells me their new color changing resins are very accurate. My experience with others is by the time it starts to turn its way way past due and you have been passing weakly ionized substances for some time. I would get a nice handheld TDS meter for around $20-$25 with the money you save on DI resin.
