Full Version: Graffiti School

This school was started in the 1950's, but due to a low population base, it was closed in 1973. Later, between '81 and '85, it was used as a small college, but closed for the same reason and has remained closed since then. Supposedly police noticed evidence of Satanic rituals having taken place on the school grounds, but that seems to have discontinued.

I ended up with a lot of pics, and some of the graffiti is somewhat obscene, so I'll only post a few here. The rest can be viewed here (81 pics).

Oh, see if you can spot the triforce.

Canon XT w/Sigma 10-20mm
Some of the shots are hand brushed HDR via Lightroom.

Nice Photos. That place looks eerie.

Very sweet! Exploring places like this all over the country is one of my hobbies. They all seem to have "satanic rituals" go on in them hehe. Only one Ive found was the Sugar mill in Longmont, Co that had crazy satanic stuff all over...

Love the photos, specially the last one.. are those chalk boards?
Lalani
Thanks, guys. smile.gif
And yes, those are chalk boards.

Yeah, I can see how it would be really creepy if you went at night with only flashlights. Some of the graffiti was ominous and a door kept swinging shut from the wind in one of the buildings (made us think someone was getting out of a car by the road, lol).

Hehe, I think it's actually a symbol for something else but I still see it as the triforce!

Nice pano!

The hallways are lookalikes to the TB hospital here, which ironically, was also completely barren except for the graffiti. Looks like a fun time smile.gif

thanks for making me want to trudge out in the snow to take pictures dry.gif
Lalani
Thanks!
The pano was done quickly as we were making our way back to the car. I just snapped three shots hand held with the 10-20mm and later let PS stitch them together automatically, easy peasy!

Do eet, it's not like you have a job or anything. tongue.gif

huge footprints in the snow leading to buildings with security guards patrolling? doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me.

gotta avoid trespassing charges for a while anyway...somehow i don't think schools will like that on my resume.

Wuss.

Urban legends.
Started by idle christians back in the 70s and 80s.
Those are the creeps you need to be wary of.
Creepy indeed.

Take that back. They have been around centuries.
They were only repopularized in 70s 80s.

I'm always tempted to contribute to the vandalism at these type of places tongue.gif But these are some great photos! I looked and looked and didn't see the triforce sleep.gif Help me out?
Rick Shaw
Way cool. I could have a whole bundle of fun in there.

Great shots, Im impressed with the results you have been getting from that Sigma.

This posting reminds me of a place I used to go and shoot, impressed !
Lalani
Thank you! smile.gif
And yeah, I love the Sigma so much. I only switched it out for the 28-135mm a few times during this trip, but not often. It's so nice to be able to fit so much into the frame with it, and I've only seen really noticeable distortions on a few shots taken with it, not bad at all. <3

i saw a headless gutted dear w/ a pentagram burned into it once......and a burned couch it was strange
