I ordered a Maxspect 160W LED fixture from them, and I must say that their service was better than most American vendors despite being located halfway around the world in Hong Kong. They answered all my email questions within 24 hours of request, shipped the item as soon as they had stock, and it arrived here in the US within 4 days of shipment. A great buy and even better service!

I received it it work and just unboxed it it to make sure it worked. Totally blinded the guy in the cubicle next to me lol. He said he's never seen anything so bright in his life. I'll put up a review in the review section later on, but first impressions are great.. Sleek design, well packed, bright as hell, quiet, and seemingly solid construction. Got it for $500 including shipping. I looked at Ecolamp, AI, and Pacific Sun-- but a comparable fixture from any of them would have cost at least double than the Maxspect. The only negative I could find with Maxspect was that it wasn't dimmable.

Well, it's going over a new tank, and I'll be moving livestock over slowly once cycled so I'm not too concerned. My new aquascape will have plenty of shaded areas and I'll start by putting things on the sand or near the bottom.

Though it isn't dimmable, you do have seperate controls and timers for each of the 3 LED types (3W white, 30W white, and 3W blue), so I can always start off with the 30W lamps off. Also, it will be celing hung so I can suspend it higher and slowly drop it over time. But yeah, considering my stuff will be coming from a stock Biocube, this light fixture is practically nuclear lighting in comparison, so care will be needed.

Yeah, UPS from Hong Kong isn't cheap.. I wouldn't buy anything from them except for items that can't be obtained in North America, which they do have a few.. The main attraction being the Maxspect light since selling it in the US would bring teh wrath of Orbitec down on them
