title says it all thanks

this is regarding my plate coral and acans(acans would get a smaller chunk of silverside; easier than like 5 mysis)

mine exude chitin shell fragments within an hour after feeding so I don't see them fully digesting tough cartilage but maybe in large acan specimens they eat it all? At any rate I feel they are expelling fragments of undigested bone or tough horny material at some point after a good meal, maybe at night or possibly animals aid in the expulsion process by picking at it for food. the expulsion process is usually three-five minutes or better, undisturbed, in small acan frags in my experience.
