Well over the past two days I have added all of the corals I've been piling in my BC14. I haven't got them off the frag plugs though cause I'm not sure exactly where I want to glue them down.
I got another frag of Meteor Shower Cyphastrea....for the 3rd time. I swear I think they're under the least amount of light and before I know it their bleached and dying. This time I will succeed. I really want to get this encrusting in my tank because it is one of my favorite corals.
Picked up a Hydor 1400gph evolution.....this will do the job for now until I can get the funds to pick up a new MP40w Ecosmart. Anyways here it all is....everything scattered about.

Right side

FTS

I also picked up a beautiful little blue hippo tang. He's about 1.5" and shy. I picked him up some nori and he ignored it. I figure there is enough stuff on my rocks from him to graze on for a day or so.
Here he is!

What fish should I get next?

Nice tank! Sweet frags in there.
I vote for Christmas or McCosker's Flasher Wrasse... some type of Wrasse would be awesome imo

A wrasse is definitely going to be in this tank....I was thinking maybe a mystery wrasse or if not maybe some anthias. I saw this sunburst anthia today at OC aquatics and it was absolutely beautiful. I'd love to see one of them in my tank.
hmmm Soo many decisions

Got the first of my CUC in yesterday.
4 Turbo snails
4 Nassarius snails
I had some serious cyano on my rocks and in 1 day they did business! I only plan on adding maybe a cleaner shrimp and a couple snails maybe some cerith snails or margherita snails.
As for the blue hippo tang....he really isn't eating that much. At least the food I give him...he grazes all day on the rocks though. I've been putting some nori on a veggie clip and he doesn't even touch it. I did give him some rod's food and he took in some of that. Any tips for this little guy?
On another note, I have decided that I'm going to dose vodka. I started today with 0.3ml of Skyy 80 proof. I'm going to continue that for another 2 days and bump it up 0.5ml for a total of 0.8ml.

Ehhh that's a little more expensive though....plus I wouldn't definitely not like the look of my tank with earmuffs on. haha

How is your blue hippo tang doing?

Thanks!
The little hippo is doing great! He's a little stressed but acclimating very well to his new surroundings. He really only stays on the right side of the tank, but today I saw him venture out into the left side. He loves rod's food, but completely ignored the nori I give him. Anyone have any advice?

Picked up my jawfish today! Couldn't be happier; I've wanted one of these since I first started reefing. Her home now is on the right side of the tank where she has excavated a series of tunnels and basically thrown the sand into huge piles.....If she's happy I'm happy.

Well the battle has begun.....green hair algea has attacked.
My plans: less feeding, chemi-pure in the filter sock, water changes, increased vodka dosing to 1.0ml a day, and maybe a media reactor.

-UPDATE-
Today marks day 1 of Neozeo. With a lot of research and an 18pg pdf explaining the Brightwell's Neozeo method I have finally decided this system is suitable for my tank. My goal is to achieve an ULNS (Ultra low nutrient system) and provide an environment that can improve the health of both fish and coral. Now I'm not using the full on Brightwell Aquatic's neozeo method. I will be tweaking and using a hybrid of supplements to keep an efficient yet cost effective system running. First off when it's time to add a carbon source I will be dosing 80 proof Skyy Vodka instead of Reef Bio-fuel. Also I will be using ESV B-Ionic for dosing instead of BA brand. Other than that when it comes time to dive into the full method I will be using their Potassion, Vit C, etc. but that won't be for another 5 or more weeks.
Anyways today I bought 2.2kgs of Neozeo media, a Two Little Fishies Phosphate reactor, and a mini-jet 404 to get the system up and running. Per the intructions I added 150g of stones to my reactor with a flow of approx. 25gph. I added 5mL of Microbacter7 which will be repeated for the first 2 weeks. After week 2 I will add another 150g of stones and introduce my carbon source (vodka).

Wish me luck! I'm really hoping I see positive results from using this method. I know it's not going to be overnight but we will see once I have some before and after pictures.

These two colonies are just waiting patiently to be moved into my 75. In the back is an unk. acro with PE out of this world! Up from is a nice humilus acro with some rainbow monti encrusting to the right. I also got about 30polyps of both purple deaths and eagle eyes which I'll be mounting somewhere tonight.

Just got my MP40w this morning!

Wow! do I love this thing.
I really didn't realize how much flow I wasn't giving my tank until I put this bad boy on! When I turned it on all of the detrius and fish poo started flying everywhere! Along with that the polyp extension on all my corals turned into balloons! My whole tank was happy! ahah
I've been messing around with all the different modes for a couple hours. Right now I have it on 100% Nutrient Transport mode which creates a nice back and forth motion. I'll probably settle on 100% Reef Crest later tonight and keep it there.
Anyways here's a pic of where it's positioned now. Anyone have any better ideas of where to place it?

Jun 15 2010, 09:27 PM
My blue tang unfortunately got ich and passed away. I don't think I'm going to get another tang for a long time. Right now I'm just focusing on my Jawfish and Midas Blenny and keeping them happy and healthy. My next fish is going to be an ORA mandarin which my LFS said they're getting them in any day now.
On another note I just picked up some Tropic Marin Pro. I mixed up 5g and did a WC on my BC14. Overall I really like this stuff a lot more than the D-D H2Ocean mainly because it doesn't have residue. I will see how my corals respond to it.

Neozeo is working as planned although I've decided to make this tank more of an LPS/ zoa paly tank so I don't need to maintain an ULNS.
Anyways today I got an unexpected surprise....Sunlight supply sent my a replacement fan kit since I guess they are having problems. They also sent me a 5lb bucked of D-D H2Ocean, CoralRX, Elos fish food, and a cool coral viewer like you see in your LFS. So tonight I'll be installing that tonight.
