). I cant get the files off the card....

Got another boat today though...4 boat fleet now. lol.

Hey John what's up with the flying sea hare? Sounds pretty cool!
johnmaloney
Feb 12 2010, 10:44 PM
they swim really. it is probably the coolest thing you seen a slug do, they are really good swimmers in low current situations...then if they eat a bunch of sand looking for algae they get fat and lose that ability. I have kept a lot over the years, awesome if you have a codium infestation.

Eats caulerpa etc...not a good choice for most tanks.

Theat thread with the yearly things, do you update your page with them if you have it? Or do you have to ask?

Feb 13 2010, 01:33 PM
no i have pictures and descriptions for the macro algae and they few other inverts in there. the other thread was to put all the answers in one spot, because sometimes I get this question, "Hey John, I am in to Carib/Florida biotopes, and I was wondering what you come across?"
Which is one of those questions I sort of give a short response to, a comprehensive list takes me time to remember things..

Interesting.
What are some new additions that will be there soon?

I guess it depends on when I get the camera working, but I am not putting effort into it really. You can put up a name, even species name etc...but you will never sell anything on the net without a picture, but for me to offer an item every so often it isnt worth taking a picture writing a product description up etc...so there is a lot of stuff throughout the year that I dont sell. Especially macros, they are usually the nicest ones too. I know a few hobbyists that just inherently trust me when it comes to macros and they get them, or I mix them into the Best of Season packs when I have a pack worth making a best of season.
I have a thread about some of the stuff I bump into called "the official what can you get" thread or something like that. It is a work in progress and 90% of it isnt for nanos, but I tried to list all the critters I bump into.

the pics on those are up. I am adding another species, you nano people might like it - the white spotted sea hare. Really tiny guy, ships about the size of a dwarf cerith, maxes out at the size of a florida cerith. Eats about 4 times as much as a turbo at that size though.
oh and I will add the banded tube anemone today too

Question: In about 2-21'2 months will you be getting a lot more options for CUC memebers? I know you said you get a lot in for the summer months

Speaking of inverts, are you able to collect and ship lettuce sea slugs (E. crispata and/or clarki)? I don't see them up in the "what else can you get" thread with a quick CTRL-F, but from what I understand they really should be available around where you are.
AIUI the clarkis should be available in mangrove regions and crispatas out in the open reef areas, but I'm not sure how reliable that information is. From the descriptions, the best way to distinguish seems to be crispatas have pale feet and clarki have mottled green.
johnmaloney
Apr 1 2010, 08:56 PM
i see them when i go south sometimes, but it hasn't been something I plan to regularly collect yet. I just don't know much about them other than I bump into them every now and then and they eat hair algae.
we still have some products from last year that arent up animalmaster. I think that will be the end of the hares/slugs for the year though, except for maybe Elysia ornata.

I once had Lettuce nudis

All 4 of them caused a mess of thinga. They slimed the whole tank it was a mess. They also knocked everything over

Man they are cool though!!!!!

Update: Cool snail!
http://reefcleaners.org/index.php?page=sho...t&Itemid=34Are they similar to the Tonga Fighting Conch?

Royal Gramma
Red Spotted Blenny
Barnacle Blenny
Two Spot Bimaculatus Blenny
Firefish
Pearly Jawfish
Psychedelic Mandarin (When the tank is more established)

Pair of Tiger Gobies
Pair of Masked Gobies
Greenbanded Goby
Dragonface Pipefish
2 Orange Lined Cardinalfishes

Yes, I am one of the invert freaks who pays attention to every little invert even the nerites. I would like tons of inverts.
This tank is ultra peaceful that's why I have peaceful tangs.
I am ordering my main (Very Large) CUC from you guys and I'm ordering a small CUC from vividaquariums.com.

thanks! it is starting to become that season but it looks like it is slowly coming in. it was pretty barren in the Keys, some of my old spots were 100% wiped out by the freeze. We got out a little farther and did alright though. At least before the steering went...I hate boats.
Should be a cool tank, I like a bunch of small things in a big tank, gets you a ton of activity to watch. I would change the sig line to "World's Largest Nano Tank" though, that seems fun.

we will coordinate a time when it is slow and you are online animalmaster so you can see the full line....i need to click on the publish items that are out of stock button. i have sold 1000s of those species in the past...not new, but back in stock thankfully.
Seas were rough again today, and for the rest of the week from what I hear. We are finishing the last of our move tonight so after that I will get stocked back up and then take a trip for macros and such weather permitting.
