Full Version: Ammonia still hasn't dropped
Three weeks into my cycle and my ammonia iS still at .25. It seems like I'm looking ahead toward another few weeks of just breaking down the ammonia.
What test kit are you using? What are your nitrite and nitrate readings?
Asking because with several of the test kits it is super hard to tell the difference between 0 and the 0.25 reading.

+1 API test kits are notorious for that. It depends on what light your looking at it with... Your tank is still cycling, but if all of your other readings are phosphate, nitrite, nitrate, and Ph are all in line. It could be your test kit. However, good job on checking in and taking your time. I know things get a little anxious during a cycle.
I'm using Red Sea Test Labs Master Reef Lab. It's still showing yellowish greenish color. When it the ammonia is at 0 it should should pure yellow
