So i decided to upgrade my tank from a 29g to a 90g tank. Had the bc for 8 months and my friend was selling his tank for 250 with everything included so couldnt pass up on this deal.

It's progressing. A lot of new additions coming this week. Going home to work on the plumbing a little more tonight.

More rock will look nice. I'm thinking about adding a little more to mine.

I love mh!! Love the shimmer effect it gives =) went with t5 on my bc and it's just not the same....it's like eating a burger without the fries lol

My 90g came with T5s and I still had a heat issue. Yeah you can play with bulb combos but whatever. MH ftw.

I never really had heat issues...my temp runs 80-81 during the day and go's down to high 79 at night. But I have built in fans in the canopy so that helps a lot.

having trouble figuring out what skimmer to get.....reef octopus extreme 160 or 200? 160 has a smaller foot print but for an extra $30 bucks can get the 200...would a 160 be good for a 90g or should i go for the 200?

The 160 would be plenty, but there's always that inevitable tank upgrade...

I put the 200 under my 125, I'm sticking with it for the 180.

Ok can't find a ro extreme 160 anywhere...every damn website is out of stock =( I saw the swc extreme 160 which actually looks the same as the ro...anyone kno the difference? Sigh....I hate ugrading equipment...so many choices.

I got a blue spotted jawfish for 60.

And i ordered my skimmer swc xtreme 160 cone! been hearing good things bout this skimmer and will post a review when i get it.

Bad news:
my tang got ick and basically gave it to most of my fish... 2 anthias dead....3 chromis...ate by carpet....true percs divorced and beat each other up resulting in bad ich after fins were gone....dead. Jawfish....ich....slipped into the carpet...dead. Never getting expensive fish after that incident.

Good news:
got my skimmer in yesterday and is already skimming gunk like a champ SWC 160 cone FTW. Corals are doing awesome...got a colony of cats paw and a hydrophora. That's the news update with my tank.

SWC 160 cone..first 9 hours..its a liitle wet but after 2 weeks the skimmate is a lot darker n dry and has a nasty smell to it =)
