Good thread. Hoping to learn some more about these fish.
I do believe that the redspots are as difficult to care for as some believe. I've had two of my four over two months on feedings about once or twice a day. They look great and show no signs of needing more to eat.

Has anyone been successful with them yet.

I've had my spots for 3-4 months. Feeding once a day sometimes twice. The ones that make it through shipping seem to do great. No problems so far.

I have a group of 5 and a couple of the males have had eggs but I saw the last batch produce unfertile eggs. Spit them out and my other fish came to the rescue/lunch buffet and ate just caviar. I need more to create a super shoal...lol

Fantastic photo there.
They do appear to be pretty skinny though.

lol They are a bit skinny there, aren't they. Still its one of the best examples of what a large grouping could do, that I've seen. So I guess I just got carried away with having looked closely.
