I'm wanting to buy a camera that I can take good tank pictures with(macro, enough manual settings to get decent pics of my tank etc),
that is good overall(random pictures) as a camera within the $150-$200 range....
This is a camera have been looking at,
it overall seems good enough however cameras are not something I consider myself knowledgeable about.
I know it's not that expensive but it's what I can afford.

Thanks for the help,

Bump and a change of what I want in a camera,
hopefully more realistic.

iirc, tigahboy uses that camera or one in the same line. but honestly, pretty much any camera will be able to take great photos if you know what you're doing. cameras don't take pictures, photographers do. wink.gif

Okay that's cool I'm being realistic,
I'm going to go with the cheaper camera since I'm budgeted.

Jermai I know what you mean,
that analogy can be transferred to many things smile.gif

I had difficulty at first with the canon sd1200is. But i learned better how to focus manually which is key for the close ups. Then I played with the aperature and f stop, just enough to get the pictures I wanted. But i think that is the key. Go to a pro store like Sammys. Tell them what you want to do and have them show you on the cameras in your price range.

I will say I dont like this camera because when taking pictures there is a considerable delay between snapping and when the camera takes the shot. Not a problem with aquarium photos but for other uses not so good. So there may be other smaller things to consider too.

here are some of the pictures I took.

What do you think ?
Some tank pics and random junk(sorry for it being out of order).
The SD1200IS seems pretty good for what I'm getting and the camera was $160.
Photobucket took a big bite out of the image size,
1.8MB average down to 1MB.
