So i have decided to post my 90g. I started it back in sept. I had bought complet system for about 600 which came with a 100g tank stand chiller sump protein skimmer and live rock and sand...

i took it home and started to clean it... so i was scrapin the back wall (blue paint) and i hadnt noticed i had the water hose under the coner of the tank and yanked the hose... cracked the back wall....

so i went off and bought a 90g. with corner overflo.
scraped the stand and set off to work

So i ordered my tank and went to my old job and started to build the stand... stand hieght is at 40 length is at 5"1 made out of redoak stained ebony color. amd canopy is at 15inch tall..

about a week later i got everthing done i painted the back black and started pluming i know i did somethings wrong but hell first tank i build from scratch.

so the next day i called my buddy at the LFS.. and order 100g of swan and put the tank in my room filled wtih sand then rock then the water..

you can see my 28 Hqi compared to the 90g

lots and lots of sw

so i messed wth the rock work for a while and got this which i loved and sadly couldnt keep because of the extra rock i had to add from the 28.

about a month and a half later i tested the water and cycle was over and decided to throw my clowns in to see

i tore down the 8 and most of the rock from the 28 had all my coral glued/growing on it so was forced to use it... the tank has been up for a while i just got lazy and havent finshed updating.

model making is pretty cheap compared to reefing. it just takes a long ass time to build if you want to make it look nice.

Tank is looking good. I did like the original scaping more but the new still looks good.

Is that a Gundam Fix Figuration or a model kit?

You did a pretty good job on it. I collected the Fix Figurations because I didn't have the time to build the models to do it well. I didn't want to spend the money only to do it half ass. I love making models but just can't find the time especially with this hobby and two little kids. I also collect toys but have dramatically slowed down because my tanks are taking all my money. So I know it can be almost as expensive as reef keeping. The toys in my toy room cost me alot more than this hobby. I think I stopped my Gundam Fix collection at 27 or 28. Right now I have limited my toy collecting to only Masters of the Universe Classics.

that explains the 150 kits. i love the 1/60 PG kits. so much attention to detail, every little door, or hinge can be opened or close etc. my brother loves making them, i just like looking at them when they are done and point out every single flaw or scratch, or the visible parting line on the points on the parts just to piss him off.

we dont do our shopping online, theres no need to when we have an abundant supply of LHS and LFS. i only do my shopping online when i absolutely have to get something and its not available in the whole of hong kong..which is very very rare

i bet... and yea and a good chunk of shops get stuff from there so there is shippin fees that bumb up the costs...

look into the red astray kinda pricy... but detaill is amazing... and then comparing it to the 1/100..
ibom
some picks of random stuff current

i dont know how to get rid of the blue tint the tank has a 20k hamilton and 65x2 atinic pcs
ibom
Well ill give a lil up date not that anyone fallows but the tank got ick. Due to heater failure and protein skimmer malfunction... I lost a powder brown and sand goby. Yellow tang survived....

So I will be doing major upgrading to the tank.

Brand new sump, which I traded for my chiller, currently being made. Design is of my own and will see how it works but its sorta looks like this

Basically dumps into filter sock then dumps into return area then the fuge is fed by a my and returned back where the original dump is.

The fuge is 40x18x16 protein skimmer area is 12x16 return is 28x 10 and fuge is 28x8(minus the thickness of the dividers.)

Not sure if ima have problems yet....

I also plan on getting a new skimmer looking at the bubble magus or reef octopus but open to suggestions

Ill be looking into a new skimmer I have my eye on a bubble magus or a reef octopus I like the bubble magus due to the pump being in the skimmer and the bubble plate... kinda expensive but I cheaped out and got a used and now ima pay more so ima just spend the cash.

And the major change im still debating is the stand and canopy...
We used kitchen cabinets design and now see its not the best idea and no so stable.
Doors weren’t made perfect so light is seen between cracks and I just wana go with a different design... so ill be thinking of redoing it...
Anyone else want a stand??? Or kitchen lol...

Any info on anything I said is much appreciated.... pics to fallow is I get or do stuff.
ibom
I GOT ME SUMP...

5 gallon juge to show size... its as stated above 40x18x16

it is all explained how it works... i just need go get some plumbing and see what i got...
