Very nice work.

your welcome, and thanks!

Well, it has been quite a while. Not that I've been photographing less, just that not having a tank has made me come on nano-reef a little less. That could change soon, we'll see if my idea can get parental approval.

In the mean time, here is a bit of an update - what I've been doing the past few months, and what I've been taking pictures of.

First, in a saltwater withdrawal-fueled craze I bought myself a new pet! His name is lionel, and he's awesome, even though he's not quite as awesome as a reef tank.

I've been trying to see everything that socal has to offer, and so far I haven't been disappointed. Joshua tree was really cool:

but there's also some cool stuff nearby, like mt. baldy and its foothills:

The teacher of my freshman writing seminar is a bio prof, and she's taken me and my friend on several research excursions with her senior class, including bird tracking/banding:

She also took us to seaworld, just for fun.

Most recently, me and my friends went to san diego. While at this mall, some security cards took me aside and asked whether or not I knew their policy on "structural photographs." Apparently, if you're taking photo's that aren't portraits of people, you are probably a terrorist. Who knew?

afterward, we went to the beach to see the sun set, but it was kind of cloudy. Still nice though.

brooding anemone! I've never seen these in oregon, but we're supposed to have them.

my roommate (normally don't post people pictures, but I thought this one was cool)

So that's all I've been up to. California is awesome, but I can't wait to get back to the pacific northwest. My flight is just two days away!

Went scuba diving with my friend in Monterey this weekend, got some underwater pictures.

Jamie
Spring break has come and gone, and the pictures have now been edited. If only vacations could last forever.

My dad is the big fly fisher in our family, but I sometimes go with him. It's hard to say no when the beach is right there, too. wink.gif And yeah, invasive species ftl. sad.gif Apparently they're quite tasty though. The dive shop we went to had a pretty sweet lionfish cookbook, with instructions for how to prepare them without sticking yourself, etc.

Thanks. Most pictures are a d90 with the kit lens, which is 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6. Some of the wildlife shots are with the 70-300 f/4-5.6. The underwater cam is a canon p+s with a housing.

I haven't been around NR much since my tank is chilling at school over the summer, but I thought I might as well do a mid summer picture update. Here goes!

There certainly must have been something delicious on that rock... I've never seen so many in one place before!
