So i have had a couple of colony's of bridnest that have grown a tonne over the past few month's. I ended up fragging one of them. every frag seems to have bleached at the plug up any where from a quarter of an inch to about 1 inch up the colony.

the worst of the bunch seems to be showing some color on the polyps again where it was bleached a couple of days ago.

Is this normal ?

I would guess so. Especially at the point where you cut it...Would stress it out for a bit. I'd give it a couple weeks and see what happens. Certainly don't give up on the frags yet.

also what did you use to cut the frags ?

cut ? I just broke it off.

Dont worry about giving up on them thats not what i was thinking. I was just curious if i caused some sort of irreversable damage which would make my mind think frag at the good portion which would lead me back to square one.

What did you use to mount the frags?

boston aqua farms reef glue gel.

aka super glue gel
organism
That gel is pretty harsh on SPS and can kill the tissue near where it touches, I prefer using the reef glue accelerator and thick super glue for SPS since you only need to put a tiny bit on there.

I wouldn't worry. Use as little glue as possible, but if you have good water quality, SPS are alot tougher than people think of them as. You should use a half a centimeter glob of gel max each time.
