Okay so here's the deal. I was keeping a peacock mantis shrimp in a 10 gallon tank with a gsp. The mantis is much bigger than him so don't worry about that for now. I'm moving the peacock into a 55 gal in the coming weeks. The puffer is only about an inch and not agressive at all.
My questions are:
1. Should I leave the gsp in the 10 gallon by it self?
2. can I house them both in the 55 ( for now)
3. w/ the puffer and mantis... What can I stock the 55 gal with?
4. w/o puffer what can I stock the 55 with?
To take note I would prefer to keep non agressive fish such as RG clownfish firefish or tangs?
5. can hippo tangs be housed in a 55?
Thanks for answering as of right now this is just a fowlr tank with possible soft corals in the future

if you mean gsp= green star polyps, then it doesn't really matter what tank you leave it in.
what kind of puffer are you referring too?
I imagine once the puffer gets big enough, its going to want to eat the mantis.
hippo tangs can hit ten inches easy, if it where the only fish in a 90 i wouldn't have a problem, but others might recommend at least a 180 for it, just saying.

Okay thanks, that's not what I meant by gsp I meant green spotted puffer. Thanks for the suggestion with the tang though I won't get one. Most dwarf angels will be okay for a 55 right?

Dwarf angels would be fine as long as you only have ONE. They get very territorial with others of the same genus.
Also, mantis shrimp really should be kept in their own tank. Even if it is a "smasher" species, that doesn't mean it won't eliminate fish from the diet. They tend to be opportunistic like most shrimp and crabs are (well, technically, it's not a shrimp or crab. It's a stomatopod). And the fish you could potentially house with it will most likely try to EAT it. You could set up a beautiul reef tank with just the mantis (they won't eat the coral). Just don't expect the reef to look the same day to day. They like to rearrange their homes quite often ; )

Yea I was wondering as to how I could keep the shrimp from moving the corals around and stuff like that. Is the only solution epoxy glue or whatever it's called?

Yes epoxy or superglue (the gel kind) will keep the corals on the rocks. However, keep in mind that mantis are capable of burrowing into the rock.
