Since i got my new camera I thought I might as well start a photo thread. My equipment is a Pentax K-x with kit lenses, 18-55 and 50-200 mm. Just trying the camera out right now, have mostly taken photos indoors, since it's 8 degrees outside and been snowing for the past 3 days. Waiting for some sunshine so i can get out and take some nice snow pictures.

Starting slow with a shot of a Candy cane under blue leds.

Ooooooh... more! smile.gif

Moar pics of Swedish Bikini Team, please.
Swedereefer
Went out in the cold today to take some pictures winter style (Sorry Ray, no bikini team, think they hide somewhere). I did some in very simple HDR by using Paint.Net and a couple of plugins.

Beautiful lighting.. 8 and 10 are my favs. I just wish the bridge wasn't smack dab in the center of the frame. wink.gif

I like 10 and 12. Ditto on the center thing. Rule of Thirds. Learn it well.

Good start for your first shots, keep practicing!

The lightning was a bit hard, only have about 3-4 hours of sunlight, all pictures was in the middle of the day, with the sun barely over the horizon, but i think the camera did the good job. I can't take the credit for the good light just yet smile.gif

Gonna chop them down next time, promise... (or perhaps shoot from the other side?)
Lalani
Powerlines are one of those obstacles we all have trouble with... Yeah, a different angle may hide them, but they'll likely still be somewhere in there. Sometimes ya can't help it!

Went up to Kiruna (far, far up north) for a meeting the other day, 13 hour train trip, 2 hour meeting and then free time before train back home left. Went to the Ice hotel in a small village not so far away, they build this thing every winter and they been doing it for the last 20 years.

Lalani
That looks so cool!
Nicely done with those pics, I bet the lighting was difficult.
Swedereefer
It's quite dark and the light is flat in there, so i had to bump up the colors and contrast a bit in PP.

Took a stroll through the park a while ago. Nice sunny weather, lots of people out walking and plenty of ducks begging for food.

Got myself extension tubes from ebay to be able to take some macros. A cheap way to get into the macro world. Very fun, and at the same time hard.

Everything hand-held with either a 50 mm or a 135 mm and different length of the extension tubes.

1. Dads old camera, the lenses i used are from that one, everything manual.

Went out to an old Iron Mill just outside of town, it opened in the middle of the 17th century and the production ended in the middle of 1980. It's quite a big area, and this is just some of the old parts that are accessible to the public as a museum.

Wow! Being from the city I have never seen something like that. What happened to those cars and how do they get there?
Swedereefer
A couple of years ago they gave you cash (around $500) if you went to the junkyard with your old car. But then the government removed it and people got lazy and started to dump cars in the forest instead, apparently there are about 350 000 junk cars just standing abandoned, being torched or used as gun targets.
Swedereefer
I got bugs...

Odda Smelteverk (Odda Meltingplant)

Passed the small town of Odda in Norway and a big factory caught my eye. Became very curious in what it was, took some photos of the abandoned factory and walked around the area. Googled a bit when i came home, the factory was built in 1906 and production ended in 2002. They made calcium carbide, calcium cyanamide and dicyandiamid.
