At the same time a little creepy, how many abandoned shacks do you live by lol?

Thanks. Quite a few. These were all lined up on the same piece of property, being used as storage for a farmer apparently. I might take a trip up to Shreveport and the surrounding areas some time this week. 3-4 hour drive to get there, but I usually drive more on my regular trips. There are quite a few old schools up there.

Oh cool cool. Do you just sneak onto the property haha? Also, it is weird to me not seeing snow in the pics...

Nice pictures. Slightly on topic, have you seen Pawn Stars? It's about a family owned pawn shop in Vegas. In a recent episode, they bought an old barber chair and had it restored.

@Scott - I've been hiding.

Yeah, I really might find the owner of the place and ask to take that barber chair.. fix it up and it would probably be real comfy!

Beautiful, as always, Kim. That lens suits your eye, you capture some great stuff with it. Makes me want to go for a drive through the countryside.
a heads up: I will be requesting a hi-res version of one of your photos in the next few days for a background for the HD screen of my new laptop. I just have to pick one now!

Thanks, Chris.

I'm loving that lens. I always had trouble composing shots in the horizontal/landscape format, but with this lens it's a little easier. And sure! Just let me know which pic you want.

When I first looked around the door, it looked like something was sitting in it.

My favorite is the old machine with the patent dates on it.

Sky is thanks to HDR... It was a great cloud day for pics, woo! And I used the Sigma 10-20mm for all of those shots.

Have I ever mentioned that Cincinnati built subway tunnels back in the day, but never used them?
If not, here's some pics of the abandoned tunnels:

The tunnels are pretty much complete: they run all throughout the city. Some have been filled-in though.

Oooh, no you didn't mention that before. Very cool! Would probably be fun to take a group of friends through it. I know a lot of ue people like to explore abandoned drainage tunnels and subways, but we of course don't have anything like that around here.

Sheesh, I usually avoid going into the places in such bad condition... only because I'm usually alone and it would be hard for anyone to find me under a collapsed building.

Been like that for years since I've been going up there. It might get a bit worse during a big rain, or earthquake, but people party all night inside of it. Had a buddy with me too =) What's cool is you can walk on the roof starting at the ground level, haha.
