since we are off topic, here is a shot of a needlefish that bit me, so I decided to keep him. He is chilling next to some black mangrove seeds in front of a bad looking but secure silicone patch job

CONFUSION
johnmaloney
no it definitely bit me. I caught him by accident, and when I tried to release him he bit me. Wouldn't let go either, I have a witness to that. Transferred him to the other hand to bring him to the water and he did it again. He does well in the tank, definitely not shrimp friendly. I was catching shrimp for sea horses, and kept them in the tank with him. By morning he had killed most of them. sad.gif There is also a small, very small juvie scorpionfish in there.
Jacobnano
Neato. More pics John! I wanna see the scorpionfish lol.
johnmaloney

no not really. i am not much into aesthetically pleasing long term tanks. they are cool and all, I just don't really have an eye like that, and I mess around with tanks more than build a piece of art like most people. I like to keep animals learn about their care and then keep other animals....I settle for the ocean usually for fish watching. The only tanks I have now are an h. erectus in a refugium style setup with gracilaria and the prey shore shrimp, a damsel and an engineer goby sharing a 72 gallon, and dwarf seahorses in a gracilaria tank again. I also have a 55 with a 3 line grunt (at least that is what we call them locally), a hairy blenny and a mated pair of coral banded shrimp. Nothing colorful at all in that tank except the shrimp. The fish are cool enough, but are bullies and I won't add anything to that tank, but I had the fish since they were very small....

I am not really going to be in my place long, so I downgraded the stock a bit recently....Having a hard time finding homes for the grunt and blenny and they are free... smile.gif I will probably setup a more permanent tank after my next move. This is about as close as I came to a tank thread:
