inTank's founder sourced out underwater lights perfect for growing macro algae in a media basket, in a fuge, in a rear chamber, in a small sump. He put them up for sale and became a favorite and top seller right away. The beauty was no modification was needed unlike other solutions on the market.

Then the vendor stopped production and the market crashed early spring. The young handsome founder was forced to find an alternative. The single light produced good growth but some applications needed more light and customers wanted to save money.

After an exhaustive worldwide search though back door factories and sweat shops the now experienced founder found what he was looking for. Customers rejoiced as the holiday season came to a climax and were thrilled that inTank was able once again to supply them with the goods, the thing they wanted all along in their larger AIO aquariums and fuges.

what's the kelvin rating on this bulbs? I had two of the single lights in my bc29, both cracked and died over time, and neither contributed to any significant chaeto growth in my in-tank fuge. I ended up removing the fuge and only keeping the media basket portion. Not to say that my experiences are typical, but after reading some articles on the spectrum necessary for adequate macroalgae growth, I'm a bit skeptical

We have sold hundreds underwater lights over two years and customers see great growth.

There are many factors, time the lights are on, your water perams., type of macro.

I have the double in my ac70 fuge and I used to see real good growth in the chaeto and I ran it on a reverse cycle. The funny part is the chaeto would ball up and grow right around where the lights were. When I would take it out to trim back, the tight thick spots would be where the lights were. I just think these are great and no modding needed to use!

sweet. I love your products and was part of the hundreds. kelvin rating?
inTank
I do not know the kelvin rating, it is a halogen bulb which needs to be replaced after so many hours of use. Macro algae is pretty easy to grow and does so under various white spectrum. You can grow it with normal house hold light bulb, I hope that was in the article you read.

No, I don't recall reading that. I got this... ...$40 led bulb to light a larger fuge i'm building but got some negative feedback regarding its 3000 kelvin rating and high price. Although a "normal house hold bulb" may work, research showed that 5000-10,000k is ideal for growing chaeto so I'm trying to make an educated purchase.

Bad bad bad quality shipment came in today. All are being rejected and sent back. I will not sell this crap. I do not know if they will be available soon on the site, for now just singles will be sold. mad.gif

After inspecting half of the box I took them off the site right away.

Bummer man. Hopefully the next ones will be better!
StevieT
I don't trust this vendor for the doubles. Unless they wine and dine me I am not dealing with possible burnt our lights. I also do not have the time to go through each light in this huge shipment. Hunt is on for a higher quality double light.
