hi im new to the nano-reef community and nano itself.

i decided it was time to pick up a old hobby of mine, one that i had to give up when i moved to manhattan! ;(

anyways i picked up a used 24g aquapod for a very good price and here i am.

im in no way in a rush but heres what i have done so far....

1. 10 gal of water
2. then around 3 inches of carribean sand
3. around 30 lbs of live rock
4. and then another 10 gal
5. set up the pump [i upgraded to a mj1200
6. set up the old pump as well for more movement. in the same general way

its been 29 hrs since i had it all set up and complete and im still very very foggy. im wondering if this is normal? how long does it normally take? it doesnt seem like its small bubbles more like dust i guess u could say?

i am kinda in a rush when i wrote this but i will try to update this when i get back from work or at work

thanks all

it will take a few days to clear up, especially if you didnt put something over the sand when you poured in the water so as not to stir it up(like a plastic bag)

If your filter is on you can also toss some cheesecloth on top of your sponges to collect the fine loose material in the water. It should be clear within 72 hours or so.

Running filter floss in the filter will help "polish" particulate matter out. The rest will settle.
