As a friend, I'd figure out how it cost to make (disregarding the cost of the hardware, but including the costs of the filters and water/sewage fees). Keep in mind the amount of waste water.

well i'll have to ask my dad about the bills but i will test the wast water
wat do u think would i add on for the cost of fillters (it's only 3 stage)
and wat do u think would be a good price for him to pay if he want 75gallons

It doesn't matter how many stages it is as long as the end result has 0 TDS.
if its a friend i would charge $1 per gallon, the stores usually charge $.50 but usually their water isn't 0 TDS and they do it more than anything to get ppl to walk in and buy stuff.
I have a 5 stage unit and all my neighbors bum rodi from me for free.
good luck!

If it is just RO and not RO/DI the cost (and quality) will be significantly less. Without doing any math, I'd figure that RO should cost less than a dime a gallon and RO/DI closer to a quarter.

you sound like a good friend...

75 gallons? I'd say $10 sounds fair. In reality, the cost to you is probably half that, MAX.
Now if the friend wanted 75 gallons every week, I'd probably up the price to $20-25, just cause I'm not gonna be his waterboy for the rest of my life.

^Venturing out of the lounge?
Ya I would agree with seabass, like a quarter or less for a gallon seems fair.

Then he isn't a friend. Treat him like "just another hobbiest" if you're trying to run it as a business. What type of unit do you have? It's gonna cost you a lot in the long run if you're using a personal unit to sell water to others.

no for income it's so i can pay my dad for my eletricity bills (cuming from my god dam tanks)
and water bills (tho this isnt much) witch he will be contributeing to by getting ro water
so it's not income for my tanks of anythig else(well i dont spend much on eny thing else cos i cant afford to) lol.

Typically RO only water sells for $0.25 a gallon. Even including the cost of the unit, replacement filters and water/serwer costs you are probably making it for less the a penney a gallon if you cost it out over a year or twos time.

My LFS charges about $.50 for a gallon, so I could see charging $.25 a gallon to a friend.

Brad- not to be a party pooper, but you're not texting. Please check your spelling, it is hard to see your point with all the grammatical errors.
Where are you from? (this could be a reason for poor spelling)
There are ten(10) dimes in one(1) US Dollar.
I would charge 0.25 cents for each gallon if I were to charge a friend.

Something to keep in mind is if you are selling or bartering RO or RO/DI water, you need to keep up with your end of the bargain and maintain your RO or RO/DI system in good condition. You don't want to be selling bad water to your friends. The money, or at least a portion of it should go towards filter replacements.
