Hey all

My brother is planning on starting up a prop tank using a 120g hes got. He was asking me for suggestions.

I said he should try some T-5s.

I'm wondering what the general public think. I'm looking for not only whether he should get T-5 or MH, but actual models he could get.

If you or he are handy enough to wire up retrofit kits (not hard at all), then those are almost ALWAYS the best bang for the buck.

For a prop tank I'd use non-overdriven retrofit kits from www.reefgeek.com

How long is the 120? If it's over 60" long, just stagger the lights so that half are flush on the far right, half are flush on the far left.

Over a 120 I'd use 6 or 8.

Personally I'd be more apt to put two 250W MH pendants with Lumenbrights.
