How would this compare to the elos mini, aside from the fact that it doesn't come with an led lighting system?

Finally! A tank without the curved corners. Looks good to me too. Still a mini fan though. I guess it depends on what size tank your looking for....hard to compare the two...sorta an apples to oranges.

It's pretty much a larger version of the mini. You're comparing 20g to 50g, so as masterbuilder says above, kinda like apples to oranges.
Regarding price, the Cadlights definitely seems like a good deal (for the size) at least when compared to the mini.

Is it really 50g? The description says it is 24" x 24" x 20". Isn't that less than 50g? Seems like the mini was 20x 20 x 20 or something.

its 50 gal.the mini is 17x17x16 tall

If you buy the Cadlights, I'd avoid as many of their add-ons as possible. I've found them to be poorly built. The tank itself looks nice enough though.
